500VDC Working 5% Tolerance
500V polystyrene 4,700pF and 630V polystyrene 10,000pF. Polystyrene is a superior dielectric material with exceptionally high insulation resistance and low loss. These 500V 4,700pF polystyrene capacitors have a usefully high working voltage for valve circuit applications. Can be used to augment supply decoupling up to 500V, in parallel with supply electrolytics, or in high voltage cathode decoupling circuits, also in parallel with high voltage inter-valve signal coupling capacitors to ensure best HF response.
Note the coloured end (usually blue in this case) denotes the lead that is connected to the outer layer of foil. |

630VDC Working 2.5% Tolerance High Stability Low Loss
These 630V, FSC series polystyrene capacitors are offered in 10,000pF value. (This value is commonly used in valve circuits for inter-stage signal coupling and supply rail filtering.) Aluminium foil electrodes are used, with 0.6mm dia., tinned copper terminal wires welded to them to ensure satisfactory performance at low voltage and high frequency. Polystyrene caps are best for signal coupling, but unfortunately are most commonly available up to 160V only. This high voltage version was especially sourced for use as connection between a high voltage anode and the grid of a following stage, also to augment HT supply decoupling electrolytics to suppress high frequency spikes and supply-bourne crosstalk, and improve HF stability. Features include: low temperature coefficient, close tolerance, extreme stability, low power factor and high Q. Also recommended for tuned circuits, pulse networks, laboratory standards, timing circuits, and many other applications where their superior qualities are used to advantage. Value, tolerance and working voltage are indicated by black lettering, with letter codes to indicate tolerance and voltage.
Note the coloured end (usually yellow) denotes the lead that is connected to the outer layer of foil, so to prevent possible hum pick-up in sensitive circuits, due to its large surface area, connect that end to the point in the circuit having the lowest AC impedance so that it can screen the inner layer. |

Important please note that these and any other small components will be sent in a separate packet, i.e. not included with a parcel containing transformers etc. if these were ordered at the same time. Also I have to ask for an extra £6.13 to cover postage, handling and insurance cost for each parcel containing components. This will be added to the carriage charge box on the final order form page.
