Order No. VT1037 Price £69.75 Description
Uprated mains transformer for the Maplin 'Millennium' project and any push-pull power amplifier up to 30W. Also provides 250V for small amplifiers up to 10 15W. An upgraded version of Maplin's DM54J (now available as VT424), hence will cater for mono and stereo versions of Maplin Millennium, plus similar other types Mullard 5-20, Leak TL series, Leak ST20 etc. The 250V tap also allows lower voltage EL84 types to be used for making an amplifier of 10 15 Watts, and the increased 375V tap allows use of a smoothing choke and optional valve rectifier valve if desired (see applications).
Features 45mm high core stack with grain oriented laminations for greater efficiency and cooler operation.
Can be used with one amplifier as a 'monobloc' up to 30W (KT88 valves), but also has enough output to power a stereo pair of 10 to 20W amplifiers. Will directly replace and upgrade Maplin DM54J (VT424) in existing or new designs. 120 240V 50 or 60 Hz operation. For 240V mains supply (Europe) connect primary windings in series, for 120V (US, Canada, etc.), connect in parallel.
