Order No. VT1038 Price £69.75 Description
A traditionally arranged mains transformer intended for 20W power amplifiers using EL34 or KT66 valves, having a 45mm high core stack with grain oriented laminations for more efficient and cooler operation. Will directly replace and upgrade Maplin DM54J in existing or new 20 & 30W push-pull designs, e.g. mono versions of Maplin Millennium, Mullard 5-20, Leak TL series, Leak ST20 etc. Note that HT winding capacity is limited to one amplifier only (150mA max.). Features a double-wound, centre-tapped HT secondary designed for use with a GZ34 full-wave rectifier valve or similar type, to be used with a following smoothing choke such as VT1131 etc. Hence the output is raised to 410V to compensate for the voltage drop across these two components, possibly with extra reserve to raise output to nearer 30W into a 6 W load with VT1041.
Incorporates isolated 5V heater winding for rectifier valve. Note: this winding is connected to output HT by the valve and must not therefore be earthed at any point.
