'Super-improved', high-specification version of VT1041, having nine winding sections for minimum leakage reactance and best audio coupling. Equivalent to e.g. Hammond 1650P or Lundahl LL1663 types, but with simpler connections. Prototypes of this have actually been around for a while and have been found to produce excellent results. Comprises 4 parallel-connected secondary layers distributed between 5 primary layers. Includes screen taps at 43% from CT for ultra-linear applications. 6.6 kilohms Ra-a, output for 6 8Ω speakers. Massive 49mm thick core stack makes power outputs up to 50W feasible. Drop-through chassis mounting. Upgrades VT425 and VT1041 in all same output applications (note however 'footprint' size is 79 x 95mm, same as mains transformer or VT1040). 250 Henries incremental inductance (<=65µA @ 5Vac test) is superior to the minimum 'Williamson' amplifier specification.
Note initially assembled in mounting frames, but includes a top cover for conversion to drop-through style mounting.
